On Rue St. Paul (Digital Woodcut)

I took this photo during a recent trip to Montreal.  This is Rue St. Paul, the main street for tourists, souvenir shops, and restaurants. It was late afternoon, the last day of our trip, and I liked the way the light played on the buildings. Tonight I did some basic editing in iPhoto, and then used Painter to do some digital editing, including simplifying the scene a bit and changing the appearance of the people in the scene. (This was to eliminate distractions but also to avoid producing a recognizable image of anyone.)  Then I posterized the image and applied a digital woodcut effect.
