Yesterday's post was a rough version of an idea for a Rosh Hashanah project, a video animation created on my iPad with the Brushes app. (The Brushes app captures a stroke-by-stroke video as you draw.) To make the animation work, you have to figure out not only what to draw but in what order. Yesterday's trial run was to see if my idea could work, to make honey bees spell out 5777. The basic idea worked, but I wasn't crazy about the composition in the resulting drawing, posted here tonight. Since then, I have already made another version, which I plan to post for Rosh Hashanah tomorrow night. But meanwhile, here is the rough sketch from yesterday's first attempt.
