This morning I worked on this painting. I have been painting "Mountain Daydreams," acrylic landscapes based on my imagination and memories of the Colorado mountains. In this case, my painting is loosely based on a photo that I took on a recent trip to Colorado. We were driving from Vail back to Denver when the sun came out from behind the clouds. This morning I modified the shape of the patch of sunlight, and lightened the most distant mountain. Then I worked on the sky, modifying the composition I had roughed in. This is getting better, but there is more to do.
