Woods Near the Pond

With the warm weather we are having this week, it is nice to take walks by the pond. This image is cropped from a recent photo that I took with my phonecam. The air seems cool near the pond, and it probably is a few degrees cooler because of the water. But I think it also feels cooler there because the deep shadows, the dappled light, and the bright water look cool to the eye, even when the weather is very hot.
