I took this photo today during a walk at the Cummings Center.  The pond had iced over during last week's snow and ice storms, but apparently some of the ice had melted with the recent warm spell.  (It was in the sixties yesterday, and in the mid-forties today.)   The warm weather won't last, but seeing a break in the ice is a reminder that spring will come eventually! I liked the view of the pond through these birch trees, so I took a picture.  Tonight I cropped the image to get this composition.  I also used Painter to create a posterized version, which I plan to post here tomorrow.
