Looking Up at December Berries (Originally uploaded by randubnick)
This image began during a recent walk at Long Hill Gardens, here in Beverly, Massachusetts. Along the road up the hill to the garden, there are several kinds of trees that bloom in the spring and produce berries in the fall and winter. I noticed this particular tree because the berries were such a deep, dark red that they reminded me of bing cherries. I took several pictures of it, looking up at the sky through the branches. Tonight I edited the best one. I adjusted the contrast, cropped it to get this composition, and then posterized it in Painter.
