Iris at Eye Level

While I was taking a walk yesterday, I suddenly saw these tall iris, growing at the edge of the sidewalk, behind a low stone wall. They weren't literally at eye-level, but they were tall! The flowers were so beautiful and the view of them was so great that I quickly took a picture with my digital camera. In doing so, I captured part of the yard as well as a bit of building (garage perhaps) in the background. My original intent was to crop all that out and focus on the flowers. And I tried. But in the end, I decided that in this case, the background adds to the composition. And more important, it helps convey the moment of surprise as I suddenly came across these flowers.
