Nine White Roses

Nine White Roses by randubnick
Nine White Roses, a photo by randubnick on Flickr.

Two days ago, I used Painter's pattern pen to create an image with pattern made from a photo of clematis (taken last summer). I used a process that was a little different from what I usually do with the patterns pen. I liked the result, so I thought I would try another one. This time, I used a purple background, and like last time, used Painter's pattern pen with a soft edge. The pattern is white roses, which I captured from one of my photos last year. I used a very large brush and made just a few strokes (though it took a lot of trial and error to get things where I wanted them). Then I posterized the result and cropped it to get this composition.
