It snowed this morning (finally), just an inch or so, and the temperature was rising into the mid-thirties. But I was on the run and didn't get a chance to take pictures until late afternoon, when we stopped to walk the dog on the path by the Bass River, behind the Starbucks here in Beverly. There were still some traces of snow accentuating the line of the riverbank, so I took some pictures. This was the best of the bunch, so I opened it in Painter, cleaned up some distractions in the foreground with digital pastel as well as some cut-and-paste, and then did some selective posterizing. Then I cropped it to get this composition.
