The image that I posted yesterday was a digital pattern created in Painter from my pen and ink drawing of some leaves (posted here August 4, 2012). Last night I also tried applying Painter's posterizing effect to the same image, and I liked the result. Posterizing emphasizes and simplifies shapes and colors. In this case, the subtle shadow and light of the drawing paper became a second pattern. This was accidental, but I really liked the result.
