First of May at Long Hill Gardens

Here's another view of the gardens at Long Hill (in Beverly, MA) from a batch of photos that I took on our most recent outing, which was May 1. There were a lot of flowering trees to see, so I was taking pictures. You can see azaleas, magnolias, and weeping cherry in this photo. Tonight I used iPhoto to do a tiny bit of retouching and then experimented with the crop until I decided on this version. I like the long diagonals created by the late afternoon light, and I think they help to balance the composition.
