Here is the oil bar painting I have been working on as it looked yesterday, July 3, 2013. I am using one of my photos as a references, a picture that I took from Obear Park in the evening with storm clouds over Salem (across the river). (The photo is posted here June 19.) Yesterday was my third and final day of obsessively working on getting the water right. I was struggling to create that dark green horizontal band, a reflection of the shoreline. It occurred to me that it might help if I made the shoreline the same color, and it helped. Anyway, that is quite enough with the water. Time to work on the trees. To be continued.
