Red Canyon (Acrylic Water Media)

This painting is done with acrylic paint used as water media, on heavy watercolor paper. I painted this a few days ago (February 18, 2014) and finished it in one day, a morning and an afternoon painting session. I worked from imagination and memories of my home state of Colorado, where you can find deep canyons and red earth (though not quite this red). In July some of my paintings will be part of a show at Galatea Fine Arts in Boston. Participating artists were asked to submit an image that can be used for publicity, and I sent this one.
