I have been working on an illustration for a recipe that is going to be published on our food blog, seasoningforeverypalate.wordpress.com. This is to illustrate a recipe for feijoada, a black bean stew that is a Brazilian national dish, and also part of our family recipe collection. I decided to organize the illustration like a mandala, with the feijoada in the middle, surrounded by ingredients and garnishes (sausages, oranges, kale). I had the basic layout a few days ago, and over the past few days, I drew in the beans in pencil, and then went over them in dark purple Sharpie.
