I have been posting some exercises and paintings from a watercolor class that I took in the summer of 1998. I found them recently while cleaning up my studio. This one was a homework assignment, to paint our own hands. The idea was to apply what we had learned from the skin-tone colors exercise. T I remember realizing, in the middle of this assignment, that I had blue veins on the backs of my hands. When did that happen? Self-portraiture is hard.
