This is the painting that I started yesterday. My inspiration: photos from a trip to the Colorado mountains in 1956. I was eight at the time of the trip, so details are vague, but I know we were went to Estes Park. Two days ago, I cropped and modified one of the photos to use as a painting reference (posted here April 14). Today I worked on the foreground, adding the basic color and some texture. I also changed the lines, putting in some shapes on the left. Those hills are in the original photo but outside the area of my crop. Today I moved them back into this image to add interest to the composition.
