This is my current painting as it looks now. This image was inspired by a small album of snapshots that I recently came across of a trip that I took as a child, a drive to Estes Park in the Colorado mountains. I am using a digitally modified version of one of the snapshots as a painting reference (posted here April 14). Today I added color and texture to the second band of mountains (in purple). After that, I spent about an hour struggling with the top line of the band of mountains in blue. I am trying to smooth that line out so the mountains look more natural. Tomorrow I plan to do the same with the two snow-capped peaks on each side of the canvas. To be continued. . . .
