I am going to try to paint one more landscape for my upcoming show ("Colorado Memories" at Galatea Fine Art in November). This time, my inspiration is a 1980s era snapshot from a family vacation to Glenwood Springs. Yesterday I used Painter to do some digital editing to create a painting reference. On the computer, I replaced the buildings in the foreground with some hills, just to see if my idea will work. Even though I plan to use lighter colors in the foreground, the composition will work, so I will use this as my photo reference.
