Ceiling at Peabody Essex Museum

I took this photograph today at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. There are some great exhibits there, but the museum itself is a work of art! This is a view of the ceiling in the courtyard, across from the cafe. The structure, shapes, and materials seem to evoke sailing ships. (Sailing ships have a lot to do with the history of Salem and Boston.) What struck me today was the use of light and pattern, so I took a couple of pictures. Tonight I cropped this photo, trying to create a composition from the abstract shapes and the format of the photo.
