Korean Rhododendron (Digital Woodcut)
Last week (April 20), I took a picture of this Korean rhododendron, a beautiful shrub that flowers before it leafs out. Tonight I used Painter 12 to apply a woodcut effect to the photo. It was hard to get this right. I didn't want to use enough black on the flowers, but not enough black was showing up on the fence. So I added additional black line to the background, using the "magic wand" tool and working section by section. Those pink blossoms on bare branches only last for a few days, so I am glad to have this image.
