This week I am posting some of my drawings of faces. These are all cropped from some figure drawings in a sketchbook that I came across this week. These drawings were all done in figure drawing sessions at Porter Mill. In figure drawing, there is limited time to deal with the face, and besides, the drawings are almost always timed. This drawing is graphite bar on paper, and done in a style I call ghost drawings. For this style, I use the graphite bar on its side, and focus on negative space to create the figure. For the face, I make just a few strokes with the edge of the graphite bar.
