I started a new painting today, another mountain landscape. I knew I wanted one mountain peak appearing from behind another row of mountains. I sketched in the composition with pale violet paint, and then started painting in layers of blue-violet and periwinkle blue. Because I am painting mountains covered with snow, I inverted my usual way of beginning, applying the darkest color to the lowest part of the mountains. I am using acrylic paint with water, on Aquabord. This is a work in progress, so I will say, "To be continued. . . ."
