This morning, I worked on this project. I am painting this double portrait from a photo. Today I continued to work on the background color. I made the ceiling darker and then tried to bring the pink walls down to more neutral colors by adding brown to the mix. I have to make sure the background provides enough contrast with the figures, and that is a bit complicated because the man is wearing a dark suit and the woman is wearing a white dress. In terms of background, this is still underpainting, as I try to find the colors I want to use.
