This is my current painting as it looked on August 23. This mountain landscape is based on a photo that I took in Colorado last summer. (You can see my reference photo posted here on August 18.) Even though I rely a lot on my imagination, at this point was making changes to bring my composition closer to that of the photo. I wanted to elongate the shape of the mountain on the right-hand side, and to narrow the shape of the lake. I also added some darker tones of blue and purple to the mountains.
