I started this painting today. It is inspired by a family vacation photo that I took sometime during the 1980s, during a trip to Glenwood Springs, Colorado. (See posts for October 11 and 12.) I am hoping I can finish this in time to include it in my solo show next month ("Colorado Memories" at Galatea Fine Arts). But I am enjoying painting it anyway, even if the schedule doesn't work out. Today I roughed in the composition, and although I already see things I need to fix, it felt great to get started
