Here is Coral as she looks today. (I am painting this wooden fish cutout for the annual "cod auction" to benefit Marblehead Festival of Art.) I was inspired by a photo of coral cod (a real species) Coral cod have bright orange coloring and blue dots, which made me think about color field painting, which often uses bright complementary colors. I have been working on Coral for the past two days. The front is basically done, though I may do more cleanup. Still have to paint the sides and the back. . .
